北林みなみ個展。
この世界に生きる全ての個人、その体の内側を、ひとりぼっちで泳ぐ魂に触れる。
北林みなみの初個展を開催します。北林は幼少期に自身が経験した異国での孤独感、疎外感、トラウマ、自身を取り巻く世界のスケールについて、描き続けている作家です。今回の展示では、２０１９年８月〜２０２０年１２月まで、北林が滞在したインドネシアの古都・ジョグジャカルタで制作された作品を中心に展示します。”WE SWIM ALONE （ぼくらはひとりぼっちで泳ぐ）”というタイトルには『現代社会を生きる全ての個人、その体の内側を、ひとりぼっちで泳ぐ魂に触れたい』という作家の願いが込められています。当展示では展示会場の一部を作家のオープンアトリエとし、現地制作も実施します。

The first solo exhibition of Minami Kitabayashi is held at the beginning of this April. She is an artist who continues to draw about the loneliness, alienation, trauma she got when she was a child in foreign countries and the scale of the world around her. This exhibition will focus on works created in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, where she stayed from Aug 2019 to Dec 2020. The exhibition title, "WE SWIM ALONE" expresses the artist's wish to feel the souls of all individuals living in modern society. She imagines the sights the soul is swimming alone inside every people's body.
A part of this exhibition space will be used as the artist's open studio, please feel free to join.

プロフィール
北林 みなみ / Minami Kitabayashi
絵描き。1993年11月16日生まれ、武蔵野美術大学油絵科卒。幼少期はタイ、シンガポールで暮らす。大学卒業後はイギリスへ単身留学。ダルマシスワ国費留学生として１９年〜２０年ISI Yogyakarta校に在籍。
Painter. Born in 1993 Nov 16. Grew up in Thailand and Singapore. Bachelor of Fine Arts, Musashino Art University, Tokyo (2016). ISI Yogyakarta, Darmasiswa scholarship program, Indonesia(2020).
