この度、8/ ART GALLERY/ Tomio Koyama Galleryでは三宅信太郎 個人史 [2000-2018] を開催いたします。 三宅信太郎は、ドローイング、立体、パフォーマンス、映像など、様々な表現形式によって自由で機知に富んだ世界観をつくりあげてきました。厚紙や木に女の子等のドローイングを描いて型取りした「切り抜き」、コスチュームや自身が制作した様々な着ぐるみを着てのライブドローイングなど、豊かで独創的な作品は世界各地で鑑賞者を魅了し続け、国内のみならずイタリア、オーストリア、ベルリン、台湾など世界各国で個展を開催しています。 本展ではデビュー直前から19年間の三宅の表現の変遷を、ドローイングと立体作品を中心に展示いたします。

 

また、同時期に開催する銀座 蔦屋書店、GINZA ATRIUMでの個展「果てしない夜景」（8月7日～8月26日）では、段ボールや厚紙などで作られた色とりどりの様々な建物を並べ、積み上げ、組み合わせて、銀座 蔦屋書店の中に「街」を構成していきます。
この展覧会にあわせ、今までの三宅信太郎の活動を記録した作品集を美術出版社より刊行、発売。三宅の作品をモチーフとした銀座 蔦屋書店オリジナルグッズも販売いたします。

三宅信太郎の表現世界を体験いただけるふたつの展覧会を、ぜひこの機会にご高覧ください。

 

三宅信太郎は1970年東京生まれ。1996年多摩美術大学絵画科版画専攻卒業。現在も東京を拠点に活動を行っています。作品は、アストルップ・ファーンリ現代美術館（ノルウェー）、キステフォス博物館（ノルウェー）、グギング美術館（オーストリア）、ジャピゴッツィコレクション（スイス／アメリカ）、高橋コレクションなど国内外に収蔵されています。

8/ ART GALLERY/ Tomio Koyama Gallery is pleased to present Shintaro Miyake: Personal History [2000-2018]. Shintaro Miyake has created the liberated and witty worldview with wide variety of forms of expression such as drawing, sculpture, performance and video. His rich and unique works, such as “Cut-outs” of characters like little girls drawn on cardboards or wood and live drawing with wearing costumes that the artist makes himself, keep attracting viewers all over the world, and he has held solo exhibition in many locations in the world including Italy, Austria, Berlin, and Taiwan. This exhibition will focus on the transition of his 19 years artistic practice, mainly featuring drawings and sculptures.

 

In a concurrent solo exhibition Boundless Nightscape (August 7th to 26th) at GINZA ATRIUM (GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS), Miyake will construct “a town” with colorful buildings made of cardboards. For this occasion a book that documents Miyake’s artistic practice will be published by Bijutsu Shuppan-sha. The original products with motifs of Miyake’s works produced by GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS will also be available.

 

Shintaro Miyake was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1970, and graduated from Tama Art University in 1996. He currently lives and works in Tokyo. His works are included in public collections both within and outside Japan such as, Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art (Norway), Kistefos Museet (Norway), Museum Gugging (Austria), The JAPIGOZZI Collection (Switzerland / USA), and Takahashi Collection (Japan).
