10年後の東京をわたしたちはイメージできるだろうか。そのとき、わたしたちはなにをまとい、なにを考えているのだろうか。Existential Wearable＝実存的ウェアラブルというものを提案したい。Ex＝外へ、is＝存在するもの。すでにあるものではなく、ここにはないものである（外にある）「実存（existence）」は、未来的でわたしたちの存在を導くタームだ。Wearableは未来にどんな形をとるのだろうか。私たちの存在をアシストし、自由をキープし、風のように開放的なものであってほしい。
東京工業大学×ロンドン芸術大学セントラル・セントマーティンズ校は、上のコンセプトで、合同でカフェイベントやウェアラブル考案ハッカソンを行ってきました。東京で日本語、英語、アート言語、科学・工学の言語やメソッドが飛び交い、議論、製作が続きました。その発表会をひらきます。高度情報化社会のおとずれが予想されるなか、わたしたちの「実存」はどんなウェアラブルを発見するのでしょうか。お楽しみに。
Imagine Tokyo in 10 years. What are we wearing and what are we thinking then? We propose Existential Wearable: EX = to the outside; is = being. It is not something that already exists, but something that does not exist here ( but exists outside) Existence is the term that leads us to the future. What will the wearable be like in the future? We hope it to be assistance to our existence, keeping us free and being free like wind.
Tokyo Institute of Technology and Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London have held café events and a wearable hackathon on the above concept. Discussion and production have been conducted in Japanese, English, mixing jargons in art with those in science/technology and exploring various methods. We are now ready to present the outcome. What is our “existence” going to be like? Join us to discover it!
